Kaplan Test Prep
A description on the User Testing procedure done to create a more engaging experience for Kaplan Test Preps USMLE Quiz Bank.
Understanding the User
We had medical students sign up to do A/B testing for the current version and the prototype. We wanted to understand the typical user of this product, so we asked some basic questions to create personas.
Before the testing..
Questions that we asked before the A/B testing:
-
when did they start school.
-
when do they plan on taking the test?
-
which KPT products are they firmilar with?
-
do they study with a text book? or online? on site?
-
what type of device do they have?
-
have they used any of our competetors?
After the testing..

Card Sorting
We asked the volunteers to group together topics to help catagoriclly organize how they should be displayed.

Heatmap
We used heatmaps and session recordings to better understand how the use interacts with the application. This helped to identify if any of the CTA's were confusing. Recordings also showed where users initally clicked which helped decide the placement of elements for a more intuitive experience.
